Curated Voyage
The Principal of Laure Nell Interiors has once again had the pleasure of working with a very close friend, and this friendship dates back to her childhood. The homeowner and Laetitia met when they were barely 12-years-old while in school in Paris. They have remained best friends through the years despite the distance and busy lives. The homeowner, now with a family of her own (with Laetitia as godmother of her son) was in need of a home refresh in their Paris residence, focusing on the main living areas: the kitchen/breakfast room, the living room, and TV room.
For the breakfast room, we wanted the space to feel functional and comfortable. It’s where the family gathers for meals and where the kids do their homework. We selected a cozy boucle fabric and made sure everything was performance grade.
We selected a wall mural by Ananbo, whose papers Laetitia discovered during Paris Deco Off a few years ago. Their murals are reminiscent of long travels, escape, and they draw your eye in, inviting you to daydream. The pop of green was very much in line with the other natural materials selected.
For the living room, we wanted to play up the gorgeous light of the space. The apartment is on the last floor of a building, which overlooks Roland Garros, lending it this great light and exposure. The palette of the living room was chosen from the colorful, contemporary geometric painting, owned by the family. We selected a sofa in burnt sienna and black nesting coffee tables to echo the painting. It’s a convivial space for gatherings and lively cocktail parties.
We were aiming for a cozy theater space in the TV room, and the furnishings that sit low on the ground really spoke to that. We opted to paint the entire room – including the ceiling – in a night blue, which takes on a different mood depending on the weather and time of the day. For a very tonal saturated feel, we selected a royal blue sofa and a large marble table.
