MODERN FARMHOUSE

Thanks to 20 years of friendship between Laetitia Laurent and her clients, the dramatic transformation of this Fort Lauderdale residence was a most special one. Together with the architect and builder, we built an entirely new structure on an adjacent lot that we then connected to the original house, expanding the property and creating one sprawling modern home. Gravitating toward a modern farmhouse style, we selected organic textures and comfortable furnishings to warm the space while intentionally keeping the architectural bones of the house clean and streamlined. Sculptural lighting makes a statement throughout along with bold surfaces seen in the kitchen backsplash and countertops, and the graphic steps leading into the living room. Photography by Jack Cook
